“My name is Monica Smith. I live in Gallup, New Mexico. I am Navajo. I am married and have seven kids. I started making jewelry when I was only 15 years old when I started helping my mother, Kathleen Scott. She’s the one who taught me how to do baby battles. My parents both passed in 2015, and from there on I fully took over the jewelry business of what my mother and father used to do. I still continue to cherish their legacy in what they taught me, and I plan on teaching my children how to make the jewelry that I make. I’ve made jewelry for customers all over the world. I’m thankful for all the buyers and all the people that have purchased jewelry from me.”
